EJ Porth (Program Director) joined the Bozeman Youth Initiative in 2012. She moved to Bozeman after graduating with a degree in Sociology and Business from Northwestern University. In addition to BYI, she works as the Communications and Outreach Manager with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust. BYI's unique and innovative model for working with youth is what drew her to the organization. Over the last 4 years she has worked with dozens of young people to make their ideas a reality. She believes strongly in the power of project-based, hands-on learning and has seen young people completely transform through their experience with BYI. Her favorite part of BYI is playing improv games and talking about the highs and lows of life as a teenager.
Greg Owens (Executive Director) has been with BYI since 2008, overseeing the development of such projects as the Bozone Ozone Bus, Project Skatepark, BYI Productions and others which have, collectively, impacted thousands of young people. He brings more than 20 years' experience as a creative professional in theatre and media to helping young people put ideas into action. Greg counts helping BYI become a resource for youth autonomy and practical experience among his proudest accomplishments.
